BOWKER-Myslek Duo

Flute and piano duo, Rosie Bowker and Aleksandra Myslek, met in 2016 and have been performing together ever since. They have performed in festivals and concert series around the UK in London, Cambridge, Windsor, Scotland and Suffolk. They are winners of the 2020/21 Tunnell Trust Awards Scheme and are Live Music Now artists.

Both Rosie and Aleksandra have busy performing careers in their own right. As an orchestral musician Rosie has worked with orchestras including the London Symphony, City of Birmingham Symphony, and BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestras. She has appeared as a soloist in Milton Court Concert Hall, Powderham Castle, Deal Festival and on BBC Radio 3.

Rosie has performed at festivals and concert series around the UK, France and Norway with her chamber groups, including Pocket Sinfonia, who were winners of the St Martin’s Chamber Music Competition Audience Prize.

Rosie studied at Guildhall School of Music & Drama and the University of Cambridge. She performs on a Lillian Burkart Flute which she purchased with the generous support of EMI Sound Foundation, Loan Fund for Musical Instruments, Pitt-Rivers Charitable Trust, Sherborne Abbey Festival, VEC Acorn Trust, and Wessex Young Musicians’ Trust.

Aleksandra started her musical education in Warsaw, Poland. Having won the III International Chopin Competition in Budapest at the age of 16, she was given opportunities to perform extensively in France, Poland, Hungary and Spain. Since moving to the UK Aleksandra has given numerous recitals, chamber music and concerto performances. She won the Brenda Webb Accompanist Prize, and the Wilfrid Parry Brahms Prize and has been invited to accompany at competitions such as the Two Moors Festival and Cambridge Strings Academy.

Aleksandra is currently a Junior Fellow in Piano Accompaniment at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance and previously studied at the Royal Academy of Music. www.aleksandramyslek.com
